May 14, 2008 was a very important day for IMAM HASSAN CISSE and all TALIBEH BAYE around the world as their leader and beloved Imam was honored by the Senegalese health secretary of state as a GOODWILL AMBASSADOR for exclusive breastfeeding.
The ceremony took place at the Meridian president hotel in SENEGAL where thousands of people gathered to witness the inauguration presided by honorable SAFIETOU THIAM among other VIP’S was the local represent ant of UNICEF his Excellency DR IAN HOPWOOD.
According to SOS THIAM the ceremony was a day exclusively reserved for BREASTFEEDING and mother’s health in general .As their health is a top priority for SENEGALESE GOVERNMENT for the upcoming millennium and having noticed that only34% of babies under 6months old are breast-fed and a sobering statistic of 5 mother’s death a day in Senegal, she is therefore urging mothers to get the habit of the practice to guarantee their own health as well their babies one.
Dr IAN HOPWOOD of UNICEF shared the same view considering breastfeeding as an economic factor beside the health benefits for the family.
For the guest honor his Excellency AMBASSADOR IMAM HASSAN CISSE he based all his speech and statements on the holy QURAN and appeal all mothers to breastfeed according to Islam.
Apart from being ALLAH”S recommendation breastfeeding contributes de –facto to the baby’s health, personality, childhood development and determine his overall health in general as a human being .Breastfeed them at least two years said The AMBASSADOR who shared W.H.O view in that regard.
The Senegalese press did not miss the event at all and according to my colleague BACIR SANE of SOLEIL IMAM HASSAN as a twenty years veteran for children cause has just followed the steps of his grand father al CHEIKHAL KABIR MAWLANA CHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASS before adding his contribution to primary healthcare in koalas with his hospital SHIFA AL ASQAM in the heart of MEDINA BAYE.
Imam HASSAN joined over the phone by BAYTU BARHAM FOUNDATION SECRETARY MOHAMED. S. MBOUP on behalf of all the JAMIAH in the US expressed his appointment as an honor not to him only but to Islam in general and pays BAYE NIASS in particular.
According to him this event comes in a middle of a huge controversy where Islam is seen as a dangerous religion around the entire world, then when it is chosen at this level to give its contribution to the development of human being, we say ALHAMDULILAH knowing that the future belongs to us.
He is appealing all his fellow tallies to be united and get educated to educate masses starting with their own families and in cha Allah GOD with his magnificence will bless them if AMANILAH.
